Lots has happened since I last posted an update! I will try to remember it all if I can.
First off, I am going to be a big brother!! My mommy is going to have a new baby in October. We have already got to see the baby a couple of times and it is healthy and happy, even though it still won't let us know what it is. We get to see it again July 8 and maybe then we will know. I am excited about the baby and mommy says that I will love being a big brother and having someone to play with and watch grow.
Healthwise I have been very healthy. I managed to stay healthy almost all winter and it was only when it turned warm that I started having some problems. I had my last cleft surgery scheduled for June 3 but I ended getting pneumonia and had to cancel it. My doctor said he thought I may have something called reflux and may have aspirated so he wanted me tested although I have never showed signs of reflux. I had a swallow study done and it showed that I may be aspirating on the very thinnest liquids but everything else I eat and drink look fine. This means I may be getting some liquids in my lungs so my OT is going to work on thickening up my drinks a little bit and that should solve the problem. This means I am probably not refluxing so that is good! My lungs are good and clear now and mommy rescheduled my cleft surgery for July 18.
I am still in my hip brace but I go see Dr. Turi soon and maybe he will let me come out of it. I am also still growing pretty slow so I am going to be seeing an endocrinologist this fall just to make sure I don't need some help growing. Mommy says it is common for kids like me to need a little help so it shouldn't be a big deal...although it will mean I will get stuck for bloodwork again!
I am doing well with my development. I am working on feeding myself with my spoon, I can prop sit real well, I am holding and playing with toys a lot more, I recognize familiar faces and when someone says my name, and I am babbling up a storm. I can say "hi" and "mom-mom-mom" although not all the time and especially when someone wants me too! I can blow raspberries, growl, and much to mommy's dismay I love to grind my teeth.
Guess thats about all for now. I just wanted to give a quick update so everyone will know what's going on with me. I will soon be turning 2 and will have another party! This year it will be my favorite cartoon guy, Rolie Polie Olie and it will be at the park. Mommy and daddy are getting me a wagon and my uncle Matthew has already bought me a pool. I think my pool is going to take some getting used to!
