Hi-I thought I would give a quick update on what has been happening with me lately. So far, I have had a very busy summer and it is going to get busier!
I started OT with a lady named Arianne. She is very nice and she said I did very well. She came to work with me because mommy was worried about my eating skills. Arianne said I ate like a pro and that she thought I was right on track. She said I used my tongue correctly and I had no sensory problems. I should be a little chow-hound for sure after my surgery! I am already eating a jar of stage 2 baby food at a time!
Susan (my PT) is also very happy with me. She told mommy I had many good skills and I am improving more every week. We are working on sitting up (I'm almost there), crawling, standing, and playing. I can push up on my arms now when I am on my tummy and I am starting to reach for toys more. I like to stand and bounce, but I like to do it on my tiptoes. I need to work on standing flat-footed but thats hard!
I went back to Wake Forest this past Mon. for a pre-op on my cleft repair. I saw an ear, nose, and throat Dr. and he said tubes would be a good idea. They are going to do that at the same time they do the repair. That is in 3 weeks! Dr. Argenta (the plastic surgeon) told mommy and daddy my CT scan looked fine and my skull bones were not growing together to soon. That was such good news!!!
I went back to the pulminologist for a check-up yesterday and he said my lungs were all clear. He took x-rays and listened to me. I am finally over my walking pneumomia-but just to be safe I am going into surgery on antibiotic.
I have two new toys I love to play with. I have a Pooh gym that I like to lay under and reach and bat at toys. I also have a NEW piano that I play with my feet. This is my most favorite toy and I can do it for hours! Mommy say I am her little Mozart. I also LOVE to go outside and play with my doggie-Khloe. Mommy tries to take me out at least one time every day.
I weigh 15 lbs 3 oz and I am 25 inches long. I am a happy baby and I love to try to talk.
I am going to a new neurologist in August and I also see a pediatric opthamalogist in August. After I see her I can get started on my vision therapy with a lady named Drew. As you can see, I am always busy and I ALWAYS have something to do!
